WOF

At Safeway Vehicle Testing(an independent Vehicle Testing Station), Warrant of Fitness inspection (WOF) inspections are carried out by experienced WOF inspectors who are passionate about automotive and customer service!

WOF is a periodic safety inspection that is compulsory for light vehicles. This includes cars, 4WDs, utes, motorcycles, trucks and trailers. As per the new legislation(since 01-07-2014), all vehicles manufactured before year 2000 must have a WOF inspection every 6 months whereas all vehicles manufactured on 1st Jan, 2000 and onwards need to have a WOF inspection done every 12 months. Safeway Vehicle Testing (SVT) has been appointed by NZTA as an approved Vehicle Testing Station and we follow the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM) issued by NZTA. The inspection items included in a Warrant of Fitness are available at this link:   VIRM Inspection Details

Please note: we don’t do major repairs but do take care of the minor ones to save you time. We stock wiper blades, bulbs, brake parts etc., which are most common reasons of failing WOF.

Additional note: Did you know you can bring in your vehicle for a check, up to 14 days prior to the date on your current WOF sticker expiring? Should your vehicle pass the inspection in the first instance, the remaining days (maximum 14) will be added to the new WOF expiry date.
